The centre builds on Victoria's internationally-renowned reputation for leadership in medical research. Speaking at the opening, Premier Baillieu said the new facility would strengthen connections between researchers and clinicians, enhancing their ability to work on common problems, and help to attract and retain the best and brightest scientific minds from around the world.

BASF invests in intelligent chemistry for mining in Australia
09.12.2011 | Perth, Australia – December 5, 2011 – BASF has signed a long-term agreement with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to lease laboratory and office space at the Australian Minerals Research Centre in Perth. Starting in January 2012, BASF will build a global R&D and technology centre, employing six researchers and developers by the end of 2012.

Australian-German Co-operation: Clinical Trial of New Cancer Vaccine in Europe
28.11.2011 | Co-operation between Australian biotech-company Prima BioMed Ltd. and the German Fraunhofer Institute for Immunology and Cell Therapy (IZI) announces a new therapy method for treating patients suffering from ovarian cancer. In Germany alone, almost 10,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer per annum. The project receives 4.1 million Euros in funding from the Public Development Bank of the German Federal State of Saxony.
